Anybody remember that stuff? My grandparents got it and butter and peanut butter. Man that stuff was the real deal. I think they quit making it. They got it back in the 80's. Man I would give anything for a baked potato with some of that butter on it. Or a big chunk of that cheese on a cracker.
Just wondering if anybody else ever eat it.

I think most people that got the welfare cheese wound up selling it. There was a pretty good market for it apparently.

We used to buy it off the neighbors. That stuff made the best dang grilled cheese sammiches that I have ever tasted. The butter,PB,Milk and so wasn't much,but i'd take that big 'ol 5lb block of welfare cheese over Velveeta anyday. Thanks fer giving me a craving that I can't fix buddy-lol

The peanut butter would have to be scraped off the roof of the mouth at every bite in a sandwich. Thst was some crazy stuff.

The store behind the old McDonalds (Save-a-lot?) in Norton sells block cheese that tastes pretty close. Don't care for most of their goods, but the cheese is good.
May have to check that out.
